Salt Lake County is home to over 1.1 million residents, dozens of established neighborhoods, and some of the most varied exterior cleaning challenges in the state. From the high-elevation homes in Cottonwood Heights to new-construction communities in Herriman, from mid-century ranchers in Murray to luxury builds in Draper — we've cleaned them all over 24 years in business.
Salt Lake County's unique cleaning challenges include winter inversion season (November–February) that coats every surface in a layer of fine particulate matter and pollutants, hard water from the Salt Lake Valley's municipal supply (typically 200–350 ppm), and the persistent Utah Valley dust that finds its way into every corner. Homes near I-15, I-80, or I-215 face additional grime from vehicle exhaust and road spray.
WHY SALT LAKE COUNTY HOMES NEED EXTRA ATTENTION
Winter Inversion Buildup
The Salt Lake Valley's geography creates temperature inversions that trap pollutants at ground level. By February, windows, siding, and solar panels are coated in a greasy film of exhaust particles and industrial emissions. Spring cleaning removes this buildup before it bonds to surfaces.
Hard Water (200–350 ppm)
Salt Lake County water is moderately to severely hard. Sprinkler overspray, rain runoff, and even humidity leave mineral deposits on glass and solar panels. Left untreated, these deposits etch glass within 1–2 years. We see this most in South Jordan, Sandy, and West Jordan neighborhoods with mature irrigation systems.
Construction Dust (Ongoing)
The rapid development in Herriman, Riverton, South Jordan, and Eagle Mountain means construction dust is a constant. Homes within 1–2 miles of active development need more frequent exterior cleaning — typically 3–4x/year instead of 2x.
Cottonwood Seeds (May–June)
The massive cottonwood trees throughout Salt Lake Valley drop enormous quantities of seeds in late spring. These seeds pack into gutters rapidly and can create solid blockages in days during peak season.
