WINDOW CLEANING FAQ

24 years of answering these questions. Here are the honest answers Utah homeowners actually need.

How much does professional window cleaning cost in Utah?

For a typical single-story Utah home (2–3 bedroom), exterior-only window cleaning runs $120–$200. Full interior and exterior service for the same home is typically $200–$350. Two-story homes range $250–$450 for full service. Commercial properties are priced by square footage and access requirements — call for a custom quote.

These prices include screens, sills, and tracks. We provide free on-site quotes with no obligation.

How often should I have my windows professionally cleaned in Utah?

More often than you'd think. Utah's hard water, desert dust, and winter inversion smog accelerate window soiling compared to most of the country. Our recommendations:

  • Standard residential home: 2x per year (spring and fall)
  • Homes near irrigation sprinklers: 3–4x per year
  • Near active construction: 4x per year
  • Commercial storefronts: Monthly to quarterly
Can you remove hard water stains from my Utah windows?

Yes, in most cases. We assess stains in three stages:

  • Stage 1 (surface deposits): Removable with professional cleaning chemistry — included in standard service
  • Stage 2 (bonded scale): Requires chemical treatment plus mechanical polishing — additional charge depending on severity
  • Stage 3 (etched glass): Some improvement possible with restoration polishing, but deep etching may be permanent

We'll assess your windows and give you an honest evaluation before any work begins.

Do you clean interior windows too?

Yes. We offer exterior-only, interior-only, or full interior + exterior service. Most homeowners get full service 1–2 times per year and exterior-only in between. Interior cleaning requires someone to be home; exterior can be done while you're away.

What do you use to clean windows? Is it safe for my plants and pets?

We use professional-grade window cleaning solutions that are biodegradable and plant-safe. For standard cleaning, we use a surfactant-based solution and deionized/purified water for the final rinse, which leaves no mineral residue. For hard water stain treatment, we use diluted acids that are neutralized and rinsed completely before leaving the surface. All our products are safe once dry. We ask that pets be kept away from the work area during service.

Can you clean my second-story or high windows?

Yes — this is exactly where professional service makes the most sense. We use water-fed poles (reaching up to 60 feet), ladders with proper safety equipment, and for very high commercial applications, lifts. We're fully insured and OSHA-trained for elevated work. We don't recommend DIY for any window above the first floor.

How long does a window cleaning appointment take?

A typical single-story home takes 1.5–2.5 hours for exterior only, or 3–4 hours for full interior + exterior. Two-story homes are 3–5 hours. Commercial properties vary widely by size. We'll give you a time estimate when we schedule.

Do I need to be home for window cleaning?

For exterior-only service, you don't need to be home — we just need access to your exterior. For interior cleaning, someone 18+ needs to be present. We'll confirm all access requirements when you book.

Will you clean my window screens?

Yes. Screen cleaning is included with our standard window cleaning service. We remove screens, clean them separately, and reinstall them. Screens are often the most overlooked part of window maintenance — clogged screens reduce light transmission and restrict airflow into your home.

What's the best time of year to have windows cleaned in Utah?

Spring (March–April) is the most important cleaning of the year — you're removing winter inversion grime, road salt, and mineral buildup. Fall (October) is the second priority, preparing windows for winter and removing summer dust and pollen. If you can only do one cleaning per year, make it spring.
