What's the difference between pressure washing and soft washing?

Pressure washing uses high-pressure water (1,000–4,000+ PSI) to physically blast contaminants off hard surfaces like concrete and brick. Soft washing uses low pressure (under 500 PSI) combined with biodegradable cleaning solutions — the chemistry does the work, not the pressure.

Soft washing is required for vinyl siding, stucco, EIFS, painted wood, roofs, and screens. Using high pressure on these surfaces causes real damage. We always match the method to the surface.

Can you pressure wash my stucco home?

No — and this is important. Stucco (and especially synthetic stucco/EIFS) must be soft washed. High-pressure water cracks stucco, drives water behind the surface, and can cause significant damage that's expensive to repair. Since much of Utah housing is stucco, this comes up often. We soft wash all stucco surfaces.

Will pressure washing damage my concrete driveway?

Done correctly, no. Concrete is dense enough to handle high pressure. The key considerations: very old or deteriorating concrete should use lower pressure; new concrete (under 1 year) should be treated gently; decorative or stamped concrete uses lower pressure and targeted nozzles. We assess concrete condition before starting and adjust accordingly.

How long does pressure washing last before surfaces get dirty again?

For concrete driveways, a thorough clean typically looks great for 1–2 years in normal conditions. Surfaces near vegetation or with algae/moss issues may need annual treatment. Soft-washed siding treated with a biocide solution stays clean longer — typically 2–4 years before significant biological regrowth. Regular maintenance keeps surfaces in much better condition than sporadic deep cleaning.

Can pressure washing remove oil stains from my driveway?

Yes, professional hot-water pressure washing removes most oil and grease stains from concrete. Fresh stains respond much better than old, oxidized stains. We use commercial degreasers pre-treatment for heavy oil spots. Results depend on how long the oil has been on the surface and whether it has been treated before — very old stains may lighten significantly but not completely disappear.

Do I need to be home for pressure washing?

For exterior-only work like driveway and siding washing, you generally don't need to be home as long as we have access to a water spigot and the work area. We'll confirm access requirements when booking. We're fully licensed and insured — you don't need to supervise.

Is the water runoff from pressure washing safe?

For most residential cleaning (dirt, algae, general grime), yes — the runoff is essentially dirty water. For cleaning near storm drains, or for commercial applications involving oils, chemicals, or heavy contamination, we use containment protocols and comply with local stormwater regulations. All our cleaning solutions are biodegradable. We're committed to protecting Utah's waterways.
