Everything Utah homeowners need to know about gutter cleaning, maintenance, and preventing winter damage.

These prices include flushing downspouts, testing drainage, and a basic inspection. We provide photos of the before and after condition.
It depends primarily on your tree coverage:
Late fall (October–November) is the most critical timing — after leaves have fallen but before hard freezes. This prevents ice dams and winter gutter damage. Spring (March–April) is the second priority — removing the winter's accumulated debris and inspecting for freeze-thaw damage. If you can only do one cleaning per year, late fall is more important.

Our full gutter cleaning service includes:
Yes, for single-story homes with accessible gutters. You'll need a stable ladder, gloves, a scoop or hand trowel, a garden hose, and time. The main risks are ladder falls (the #1 cause of DIY home maintenance injuries) and missing downspout clogs that aren't visible from above. For any two-story or higher home, professional service is safer and usually more thorough — we can see and access things that are difficult from a household ladder.
We clean gutters with existing gutter guards and can assess their effectiveness. We don't install gutter guards as a primary service, but we're happy to give you our honest assessment of whether guards would benefit your specific tree situation. Note: gutter guards are not maintenance-free — they still require periodic cleaning, just less frequently.
Overflow is usually a clog, but there are three possible causes: (1) debris clog in the gutter or downspout (most common); (2) slope problem — gutters improperly angled toward the fascia rather than the downspout; (3) undersized gutters — some older Utah homes have 4-inch gutters that can't handle heavy rainfall or snowmelt. We diagnose the cause when we clean and let you know if a slope adjustment or upgrade is needed.
